Last week was an epic one for Off the Grid Studios! Our team took awards in four categories at this year’s Fly Fishing Video Awards, sponsored by The Drake magazine and held at the 2016 ICAST show in Orlando.

Jungle Angler took the “Best Freshwater” category. The film represents part of a major media campaign, including a short film for the Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T), a long-form film on DVD, a feature-length article in Fly Fisherman and full online social media coverage.

“The Jungle Angler campaign really illustrates how we can fully leverage a good story and how we can really find exposure for our sponsors and clients,” said RA Beattie, filmmaker and founder of OTG. “We look forward to producing more of these films within this broad distribution model.”

Chanos Chanos cumulatively swept three categories, including “Best Saltwater”, “Best Story”, and “Video of the Year”.

“I knew we had a great tale about epic fishing when we were on the flats making the film,” said filmmaker and global fishing guide Jako Lucas, “but I was not expecting this kind of audience response. I’m thrilled and excited to tackle the next saltwater adventure for next year.”

Off the Grid wishes to thank its sponsors for these award-winning films, including: Costa Del Mar, Orvis, R.L. Winston Rod Co., Scientific Anglers, Simms Fishing Products, and Yeti Coolers.

The team plans to continue the winning streak with more films planned for 2017. Stay tuned!
